Bench learning at SMU (Singapore University Management)

In an effort to develop and improve the quality of Human Resources (HR) within the University of Muhammadiyah Malang Library environment, it is necessary to carry out various supporting efforts to create human resources as expected. There are many things that can be done in this regard, including bench learning, namely conducting visits or comparative studies to places that have educational value in order to learn and open insight so as to motivate people to make changes for the better. This was done by UPT. UMM Library, bringing 13 staff and library leaders to Singapore, visited the SMU (Singapore University Management) Library, the Singapore NLB (National Library Board) National Library, and the Singapore Orchard Public Library on 20 May 2024.
At the SMU Library, apart from the warm welcome and discussion, we were also taken on a tour to see all their facilities and infrastructure, it cannot be denied that everything they have made us amazed, how they pamper library users with attractive layouts and neat collection arrangements, the impression of the library we can see modern. Meanwhile, the National and Public Libraries are no less, both libraries are located in the city center and have strategic locations with attractive layouts, they also provide special places for users who need privacy.
There are many things we can learn from visits to these various places which will be able to open up insight for UMM librarians and administrative staff to manage and develop libraries professionally, both in providing services, management, and infrastructure.
