Elementary School Students Visit

One way to foster independence is from an early age, from preschool through school age. Parents and schools can help foster this character through numerous ways. This includes educating and engaging in activities that encourage children to develop a sense of responsibility and reduce their dependence on parents or teachers.
The library is one resource that can be utilized and used to teach independence, with the guidance of teachers, parents, and relevant institutions. Children and students can be accustomed to independent learning and finding literature according to their needs. This is what Muhammadiyah Elementary School Batu did when they visited the UMM Library on Monday, November 10, 2025. A total of 123 students, accompanied by eight teachers, participated in a literacy activity.
On this occasion, UMM Young Librarians educated them on the importance of utilizing the library to support their learning process. They were also taken on a tour of the existing facilities. By introducing the library in a fun way that goes directly into the field (practice) it is very good to do, because by seeing and hearing directly it will be more interesting, the learning is also more effective compared to theoretical learning. Students will be more impressed and have memories that are hard to forget.
