In accordance with Decree Number: 783 / SK-ST / UMM / XI / 2025 based on the changes in Positions and Structural Officials within the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, the UMM Library also underwent a change in Leadership, namely on November 13, 2025, the Head of the Muhammadiyah Malang University Library, Prof. Dr. Asep Nurjaman, MSi, was honorably dismissed and replaced by Mrs. Asykaria Purwaningsih, S.IIP as the new head of the Library. This new Leadership Relay is a milestone in the Library environment because the Head of the UMM Library is led by a member of the Education Staff (Tendik), namely Librarians.
The handover ceremony for the UMM Library was held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. WIB, attended by all Library staff as a form of support for the new Head of Library and an expression of gratitude to the former Head of Library for his leadership. At the event, Mr. Asep gave advice related to the future of the Library, in addition, the staff were also given the opportunity to share their impressions during their time at the Library. The ceremony ended with the presentation of souvenirs and a group photo. With the new leadership in 2025, the UMM Library is expected to develop and advance further, both in terms of infrastructure and human resource development, so that its vision and mission can be achieved.
