The 6th Regional Conference of the FPPTI East Java Conference at the Rayz Hotel, UMM, was held successfully and in a friendly atmosphere.

Malang – The 6th Regional Conference (Muswil) of the Indonesian University Library Forum (FPPTI) for East Java, held at the Rayz Hotel, UMM, on Friday (November 28th), was a success and enjoyed a friendly atmosphere. Representatives of university libraries throughout East Java attended this important forum to discuss management reports, organizational programs, and determine the leadership direction of FPPTI East Java for the next term.
In the chairperson election, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) librarian Melati Purba Bestari, S.Sos., once again earned the full trust of FPPTI East Java members. Melati was elected by acclamation as Chairperson of FPPTI East Java for the 2025–2028 period, after all Muswil participants expressed their support without any other candidates. This acclamation demonstrates the high level of trust in her leadership during the previous term.
Prior to the election process, Melati submitted the Accountability Report (LPJ) for the East Java FPPTI management for the 2022–2025 period. In her report, she outlined the program achievements over the three years, including strengthening networks, organizing various librarian capacity-building activities, and strategic collaboration between universities. The LPJ was fully accepted by all members and the Supervisory Board without any reservations. This acceptance demonstrates that the previous management was transparent, productive, and capable of making a real impact on the development of university libraries in East Java.
Melati's re-election by acclamation is a source of pride for the University of Muhammadiyah Malang Library. As a UMM librarian, she has demonstrated visionary, innovative, and collaboration-oriented leadership, enabling FPPTI East Java to become more active and progressive in various programs. This achievement also confirms UMM's role as an institution that contributes significantly to the development of literacy, research, and academic information services at the regional level.
In his statement after his election, he expressed his gratitude for the renewed trust placed in him by the members. He emphasized the FPPTI East Java's commitment to continuously strengthening collaborative networks, encouraging technology-based innovation, and improving the quality and competence of library human resources.
The 6th FPPTI East Java Regional Conference at the Rayz Hotel, UMM, concluded with optimism that the new leadership would make the organization more adaptive, responsive, and competitive in the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
